For some strange reason, my post keeps getting cut off in the middle, and I'm getting annoyed. Anyway, today is our 16th anniversary, so Happy Anniversary to the one who "Helps me sing my song, and rights me when I'm wrong"

Thank you all so much for your heartfelt words, thoughts, and prayers for my mom. This is what we looked like 16 years ago!

I have been hesitant to post this request, because I find that I have a problem with feeling like I’m complaining or whining to ask for prayers (this also extends to feeling like the answer to “How are you?” is always “Fine”.) When I was talking about this to the lovely Deb, she said “That’s what we blog friends are for – to be here during the good, the bad and the ugly. So, in the spirit of her words, I wanted to let people know that my mom has been undergoing treatment for her second bout with breast cancer. I have been so amazingly touched by those bloggers who keep her in their prayers, ask after her regularly, put her on their parish lists, and generally check in with me.(This is not a complete list, and know that each and every one of you is written on my heart. And, I even had a friend pray for her at the Wailing Wall. I am still reduced to tears by that gesture)

Thank you to all who keep her in your prayers and me too – some days, it feels like that is all that is holding me up. And, if you could definitely think of her on Wednesdays, that is her treatment day.

And, mom, I love you!

Yesterday was a very busy day. It is not only the Annunciation, Greek Independence Day (that’s not a big deal in our parish, but it is very big in others), and a potluck. But, it was also the birthday of a lovely boy I have had the pleasure to parent and love these past 11 years. We celebrated with a friend party in the afternoon, and he had a good time.

Happy Birthday, Bug.
