Overheard in our neck of the woods recently:

Eddie’s sister is a Yoga Instructor, and sent a You Tube of herself performing a headstand titled “Yoga Headstand”. Xavier’s reply to her was, “Thank you for sending me the You Tube link. My mom wouldn’t let me log in and rate it, but I would have given you five stars. Although, a yoga headstand doesn’t look that much different than a regular headstand”.

My mom is visiting (yay, me! I look forward to a fun weekend with her) and this morning she said, “You look nice”. Xavier replied with, “Mom is good at matching her clothes”.

I’m looking forward to a busy weekend with my mom, friends, family, Van Morrison and lots of scrapbookers. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

And, lastly, my blog friend Dollymama just opened an online Baby Boutique. Go check her out, and be sure and look at these most adorable hats

Happy weekend!

It’s a scrap post.

Firstly, my amazing and wonderful hubby just finished making me a shelf for my scrap cr*p as he calls it – didn’t he do a great job? I still will probably move things around a bit, but for now, it’s looking great.

And, the fabulous Simone sent me a package yesterday – it all came from the card swap I was in that she hosted (LOVE my cards, thanks!) and then she saw a particularly appropriate badge holder at CHA (which I took a photo of this morning, what do you think?). And, the box grew from there – she included lots of yummy SU catalogues*, goodies from CHA , stamps and paper line cattys. Also, she sent along a book for Xavier, which he excitedly pulled out of the box and began reading last night. Thank you so much!

On the scrap topic, I finished this layout recently, and was pretty happy with it. Thanks Mom for the Technique Tuesday stamps. And, on a final note, I want to alter a board book – for those who have done so, do I need to sand it down before I paint it? Any tips would be most appreciated.

*if anyone is interested in getting together with me on a SU order, email me.

Happy Halloween! Enjoy the candy, and take lots of photos to scrapbook!

Quick Sunday Three

1) It's like deja vu all over again. Sigh. From Yahoo News

After launching a much-hyped reunion with all five original members, new wave pioneers Duran Duran have announced that guitarist Andy Taylor is once again leaving the band, just as he did in 1985.

2) Good Job, Cardinals!
We enjoyed watching the games, although I certainly expected the Tigers to make a better run at it. And, can we say ouch to the 5 pitcher's errors in 5 games? Yikes.

3)Food for Thought from St. Makarios of Egypt (The Philokalia Vol. 3; Faber and Faber pg. 285):
"We receive salvation by grace and as a divine gift of the Spirit. But to attain the full measure of virtue we need also to possess faith and love, and to struggle to exercise our free will with integrity."

Happy Sunday!
