I got a call from home a few minutes ago and everything is fine. I asked if they were getting along ok, and Ced's response was "We had a small argument about whether it takes one to know one after he called me an idiot, but it's over now."

Bwhaahahaaha!

I'm the mom of an 8th Grade Graduate - Yesterday, Cedric was a member of the Marshall Middle School class of 2005. The ceremony was at nine am (which seemed a bit odd to me, but hey, what do I know?) and we sent him off to school on the bus. He came downstairs in a flannel shirt (a true Washington child) and the tshirt he'd worn on Sunday. Eddie sent him back upstairs to change. He came down in a long sleeve shirt with a polo shirt over it. I told him no go, take the long sleeved shirt off. Much sighing and arguing ensued, but he finally left the house in an unironed button down shirt.

So, Eddie decided to stay home and attend the ceremony with me (what a sweetie. He said as he was getting ready for work and making sure the camera was out so I'd get photos, that he realized he wanted to see the graduation, so he called in). We are sitting there as the kids file in and, here comes Cedric and hey - he's wearing the flannel shirt! Grrrrr. With the collar askew. We kept sending him "fix your collar vibes" and tried to send some to the girl sitting next to him, but no go.

He walked across the stage and got his promotion certificate, got an award for Intrapersonal intelligence and left the building officially a high schooler.

When we got outside, he'd taken off the flannel shirt (it was too hot, you know) and was wearing the nice plaid cotton shirt for the rest of the outdoor activity day they had.

Today, school is out for the summer (you are humming it, now, aren't you).

Photos to follow.
