A Woman’s Daybook for Wednesday, September 09, 2009
Outside my window…It is cool and windy and a bit rainy. I always waffle between planning on getting ready for fall and winter by pulling out my clothes now, or waiting to see if we have a Second Summer (FKA Indian Summer – Elizabeth and I renamed it a few years ago). This results in me being late with the great clothes rotation every time.
I am thinking....about Shakespeare’s Henry VIII. Dh and I went to Ashland this weekend and saw the (apparently not often performed) play – I really liked a lot of what it had to say. and the actress who played Katherine of Aragon was fabulous (although, I am partial as she’s my favorite of his wives), although the actor who played Henry was not quite right for the role. One thing I particuarly loved was the way that they portrayed the scene where Henry appears in costume, and everyone knows that it he, but has to pretend that they don’t. This is something that I see a lot in books, but had not physically seen before, and they handled it well. I didn’t realize that the authorship of the play was a question, and I’m curious about Amy’s (and everyone else’s) thoughts.
I am thankful for... good friends who have been there for me lately.
From the learning rooms…It is the first day of 8th Grade for the Xman.
From the kitchen…I bought twenty pounds of tomatoes from my CSA and will be canning them tonight.
I am wearing... a black skirt with a red floral pattern, and a black tshirt. I am sure you can guess the shoes
I am creating...nothing at the moment. I have several things to complete.
I am going…to the Portland Women’s Retreat at the end of the month and am looking forward to seeing good friends.
I am reading...Niccolo Rising by Dorothy Dunnett. I’m about half way through, and it is good. I’ve heard very good things about the author, but this is the first I have read
I am hoping...that the Oldest gets serious about finding a job. (this is the same answer as last time. Ahem.)
I am hearing...hopefully, the Mariners
evening the series tonight.

Around the house...I have procrastinated folding laundry for far too long
One of my favorite things…wearing sweaters
A few plans for the rest of the week...a wedding shower on Saturday and a wedding (not for the same bride) on Sunday.
