I treated myself recently
Ok, not that I’ve not treated myself to a couple of other things too, but through some odd clicks on the BMG site, and maybe using a free CD or two coupon (I’m not quite sure how it happened) I got the Duran Duran Singles Boxed Set Collection (1981-85) for a very reasonable price and no shipping charges.

It’s such a fabulous collection of the singles – with both A and B sides – lots of remixes, songs that never made it onto albums, and the like. It’s a great thing to groove to (although, I have to admit, while the individual CDs are very cool, it’s best to rip them all to the computer and put on one CD for listening pleasure).
So, Cedric (14) was looking at me admiring my boxed set and asked “Is that a bunch of Duran Duran CDs?” “Yes, it’s the singles – look what great songs”. “Well, that’s a waste of CDs”. Duly noted. Then, he pondered for a couple of seconds and said “Just to clarify, any Duran Duran CD is a waste of CDs”.
What rock did I find him under? Grin. I’d happen to think that a working knowledge of Duran Duran songs could be an asset in the dating market. Although on second thought, it may only help him pick up thirty-something women and gay men.
On a related note, rumors are that there is a new studio album coming this spring, and a tour at the end of the year. Eeek. Oooh – and going to their website, I just found out they’ll be playing the medal plaza at the Turin Olympics. Yet another reason I wish I was going. Sigh.

oooh oooh oooh... if they tour they had better come here!! i didn't get that lucky go 'round.
Okay that was funny!
At 42 I can admit 1) that I enjoyed Duran Duran. and 2) I have seen Duran Duran live on one occassion. But I hate to tell you Mimi... it was one of the worst concerts I have seen... the sound was poor and all you could hear were girls screaming.
and for extra points, my word verification for this comment was xlwvaxnh
enjoy :)
It's always nice to treat yourself! I just posted two lil diddies of what I treated myself to as well :)
Duran Duran...that brings back memories!
I saw another comment about word verifications...I find some of them funny. I have found that most of them have Q's or X's in them. Oh Wait! Here we go again...mine right now is:

YAY!
Ok, that was funny. I also listened to Duran Duran. Never saw them in concert, though. And I can imagine how much girlie screaming there would have been at a duran duran concert back when i was in junior high and high school (in junior high the big girl topic was who's the cutest member of the band). Maybe now that we thirty somethings are a little older and a little wiser, there would be less screaming?!?!?!?
word verification... yvrwf
you know what gets me? the letters are sometimes so close together that I can't tell if it's a v or a w and I know it's not my eyesight:)
John Taylor still needs to come and visit me. He can even come twice, if he'd like. :)
My word verification is ewflhuu. Sounds like I saw something yukky.
Hi fellow scrapper! Have a great afternoon!

I was surfing online today and came across a neat site with layout ideas. Thought you might enjoy.
oooh, thanks Harmonia!
Sorry Papa Herman, that it wasn't a great experience. The first time I saw them, the sound wasn't that good either (it was the 87 or 88 tour - in support of Notorious). However, last year, it was incredible and the energy from the band to the audience and back was the best I've ever seen.
Christina - hands down, John ;)
Thanks for the best wishes, I do enjoy the album!
