Harmonia asked about my scrapbooking

I’ve not answered her, mostly as many of my projects in the past month have been gifts, and I never know who reads my blog.

So, I could tell that I was itching to scrap when I grabbed some paint and worked on pages on Christmas.

One of the things that I do is do my general layout of photos and patterned paper when I meet with my “scrapbook group” monthly, and then do the embellishments, journaling, and titles at home when I can cook up whatever crafty brew I want. And, may I take a minute to shout out a whohoo to my husband, who never comments on the foam stamps drying on the bathroom counter, the mottled sink from acrylic paints, and my newest goof – the chalk on the carpet from when I knocked over the container.

Anyway, this project is one finished on Christmas day – paper from Scenic Route, layout idea from Becky Higgins’ Second Sketch book , edited to add: paper placement idea from Shaunte W. in the BH Sketch book title a mix of Making Memories chipboard alphas , Scenic route stickers, and a stencil I had around. I mixed the paint color myself.

As to those gifts, I made ornaments with rolled paper inside, charms with paper, rub-ons, and photos (and Eddie helped me epoxy), and cards and tags.

So, what have you been working on?

Hi Mimi - great page!

I just finished a mini album of my hometown for one of my DTs, and I've been working on getting my scrap area organized. One of my resolutions is to have Stephanie over to scrap at least once a month!

Scrapbooking is something I've thought of doing, but with my cross stitch strewn all over the house, I think my husband would divorce me if I took up something new.

I would love to see some of your scrapbooking someday. It's something I've always wanted to do, but it seems so daunting. I have TONS of stuff from Egypt and the rest of the Middle East that has been sitting around for almost THREE YEARS!

Love the LO. I haven't been working on ANYTHING since I started grad school, BUT I'm happy to say that I am invited to a scrap day this Saturday in Nashville. I think I'll just work on making cards all day though as I really don't have too many pics to work with...well, maybe that pic of P and I from the football game!! :-)

You're so creative. That page looks great.

I did foam press paints of flowers on a curtain for the upstairs bathroom to match the shower curtain.

Started a baby afghan yesterday. Am working like mad to get it done since baby is due any day.

Will be helping hubby paint an sponge paint the living room soon.

Hey and guess what?! Got to chant the hours at church this past Sunday! Woot!

How wonderful! Thanks for posting this! I love looking at layouts!!! Since the only kids I have are of the 4-legged variety I don't get to do many kids pages...but I love getting ideas and embellishment and color schemes from any layout!

Very Nice!
Right now I am working on my Car/Motorcycle/ATV Book

Great projects are afoot in blogland! I wish I could see them all.

Jenny - your book sounds great - congratulations on being chosen for a DT. And, yes, I LOVE having a regular scrapbooking time planned.

Tracey - Will you scan and post or send to me a page or two? What a wonderful gift that is!

Arielle and Dawn - you can be assured I'll get you guys scrapping right soon.

Cute page!! I really haven't been working on ANYTHING lately. I am doing a purge of supplies and going through everything that I have in hopes of getting some inspiration. Hopefully I'll do some stuff soon!
