A Busy Weekend
Through a series of events (mostly relating to running late and forgetting to pack a lunch for Xavier), I ended up celebrating Theophany with Holy Ascension Mission on Friday morning.

It was a lovely Liturgy and we went down to Capitol Lake for the Outdoor Blessing of that Waters. It wasn’t raining as we set out, but steadily rained on us during the blessing, lightening up right as it ended. Isn’t that always the way? A reporter from the Olympian was there, and there was a lovely article in the paper on Saturday.
On Sunday, our parish had a wedding. It was very beautiful and our priest teared up during it, which was very sweet, as he’s watched the bride grow up in the parish. Many years to the newly wed couple! I ended up working in the kitchen and missing most of the reception, but the food was great and the toasts lovely (I snuck in to see them). I feel a lot better today, by the end of the wedding and looking at the vast expanse of dirty dishes, I was a bit tired, cranky and annoyed. I helped get the first load into the dishwasher and put away some things, but as we'd been gone since the morning and the kids were ready to get home, I left before it was done. Ugh.

Lucky!! We have a dry river bed behind our parish that usually flows with waste water and run off...needless to say i wish we could bless an actual river, and can't wait to be somewhere that we can do this.
Aaron, that's actually a lake (man made, IIRC) but my home parish does bless a (rather large) creek.
A dry river bed sounds interesting. I have visions of where they raced in "Grease".
lol!
beautiful photo...I love the foggy "water in the air and the fact that it rained...so fitting.
