Mergers and Acquisitions.
Ok, I don’t actually think anyone has mergered recently, but I have three recent acquisitions that I’ve been enjoying.
1) Corn is here! Our CSA box featured fresh, sweet corn that I swear just fell off the cob into your mouth. Yum. I think we have a couple of extra ears, so maybe I can have more tonight. Plus, I got blueberries today as well.
2) We entered the Digital Age at home – we FINALLY have broadband instead of dial-up. That huge sucking sound you hear? Time wasted in front of the computer. We have been catching up on Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert clips on You Tube . Jon Stewart + Ted Stevens + tubes = brilliance.
3) My Cat’s Life Press order came in. Whohoooooo! I just mounted the stamps last night and I’ll be playing tonight. I can’t wait. ETA - I forgot to say, not only did the stamps come quickly, but she included extras. Cat's Life Press Rocks!
The kids wing their way back to us tomorrow, I’d appreciate prayers for safe travels. And, the Bishop will be here on Sunday for the Feast Day, so hopefully all will go well and it won’t rain - we're having a fish fry on the back lawn after Liturgy.

I love that you put a link for "corn" and that I can go and learn more about one of my favorite veggies. I am now reminded to add "corn" to my list for the farmer's market tomorrow. Mmmmm.
Ahhh fresh corn = good.
I am a "Colbert Report" guy... which brings us to today's WORD....
Prayers for your young men going up.
Happy Feast day! A fish fry sounds delightful.

Are you saving corn for the boys? They've had fresh here, but what a nice surprise! I'm sending them back with terrible sleep habits and suitcases full of dirty clothes. Can't tell you how empty the house will seem without them! It's been a joy having them and learning about what they're involved in - sometimes surprising! And they are SO excited about the DSL!
May the Lord bring your kids home safely.
Cat's Life Press DOES rock! I love that site. They have fantastic turnaround and they always add a little something. Let's hear it for small, independent companies that still like to do right by the customer. :)
Prayers for a safe journey for your sweet boys!
what a rockin' summer you're having!
Mimi, how was the Episcopal visit? I love Bishop Benjamin!
Nothing like good, fresh, sweet corn! Sara and I realized we didn't grow nearly enough this year.
How did it go with the bishop? I was very torn about not being there - I really did have to be at my home church, but I've never seen Bishop Benjamin. Chris pointed out that my primary responsibility was to my home church, which is true, but...oh well. Too late now.
Hope you had fun! We're still waiting for our corn to get ripe. It's still pretty small.
So glad your kids are home. It just isnt the same without them is it??
It is great for the kids, as well as mom and dad, to have a little respite.
It makes everyone appreciate the other....that lasts for about one day:)
I am jealous of your fruit and vegetable baskets.
Eat well!!!
How did the Feast go with the bishop? Wish I could have come. Arielle, you could come to our church for Dormition Vigil/Vespers (not sure how they're doing it) if you wanted, Bp. Benjamin is going to be there then. :)
And yay for Colbert Report clips! I've enjoyed that too. Have you seen the clip of Stephen Colbert singing some praise song, from Strangers with Candy? It's very funny.
Corn AND Broadband ? Blessings in abundance !
I am starting to feel twinges of envy, as I sit huddled over my dial-up conncetion , LOL.
