A kit is just a kit; a smile is just a smile… A few weeks ago, I went through and changed the way I store my scrapbook paper – I made kit packets of a paper line instead of sorting by color. I am a member of KNK Club and get a packet of patterned paper, cardstock and embellishments all in one coordinating line. I really think this is a great way to store my paper, as I can just grab a kit and go.
My first trial of this system was last Saturday when I went out for my monthly scrapbooking date. The line that I chose to bring along was Basic Grey’s "Color Me Silly and I think the results worked out well. Here are the three layouts from one kit I completed on Saturday (I finished up the journaling on a couple yesterday). My only problem is that the photos are kind of grouped chronologically, but I think that I mixed them up enough people won’t get tired of them. Now, I have some scraps for a couple of cards, and then I’m just going to throw the rest of the packet into my paper storage for when I get another batch of photos that scream for those colors.
Realizing that scrapbook trends cycle, I really love what is currently in. Look at how well these pages went together – I am getting out of my photo placement rut!

Birthday Blanket – this is my adorable nephew, Carter on his first birthday – Xavier suggested we give him and my cousin’s son (about six weeks older) fleece blankets that we made. They are so comfy and colorful, and the extra piece became Xavy’s blanket (which may have been the motivation behind the suggestion, who knows?) Layout is a scraplift of Annie Wies’ layout that ran in the July CK with a new line of Anna Griffin papers.

Nine – This is a Becky Higgins sketch(June 2005 CK), paper placement, title and journaling scraplifted from Shaunte Wadley (I have scraplifted her before – I love the way she uses patterned paper)
Create and enjoy this weekend! I hope to be able to scrap tonight and see what comes out of the process now. Next up is some Scenic Route paper with some CTMH cardstock.

I love what you've done here! I'm really into card making myself and have a drawer-tower full of beautiful card, papers and embellishments! I have card making frenzies form time to time, I think when the kids are off school in a few weeks, I might just get 'crafty'...it's not the kinda thing you can rush is it? I like to take my time.
Thank you for sharing. What a nice way to preserve your memories, and it sounds like the memory even stirs up more memories (Xavier's suggestion for the blankets.)
So far most of our pictures are preserved in a bag... not ideal for the whole preservation thing.
Beautiful layouts!:)
Nice 'lift' chica! Love the BG line of brights...so much fun to work with the colors! Love the way you were able to get multiple pics into your layout...isn't that sense of completion nice???? Just makes ya want to keep going once the creative streak gets in gear. Have Fun!!
(ps: really enjoying the bumper crop of Northwest blueberries down here...can't get enough of 'em!)
