CSA Day!

Our CSA season started last week, we got our first box (they started us off with boxes this year instead of bags) of fresh and yummy veggies. This early in the season, it’s mostly greens, so we’ve been having incredible salads all week. I get to pick up the second box today – I can’t wait.

We’ve also begun to get milk delivered. When my mom was visiting, she'd gotten a flyer from the milkman. I’d assumed they were very expensive, but when I called we are actually saving over a dollar a half gallon. Whohoooo. And, it tastes really fresh and yummy.

So, organic and yummy food at my house. Come and visit!

I'll be right over! LOL. Our Farmer's Market doesn't open until July! Boo hiss! I want one that is year round!!! But I guess it's not possible in the snow belt.

I've been seeing a milkman driving in our area. I figured they'd be extra-expensive too. I guess I should give them a try.

I used to be in a veggie co-op. I got 2 cases of apples and 25lbs of carrots along with other tasty stuff in season. The kids constantly remind me of co-op day when we'd have popcorn, apples, and whatever else was available that week. Alas, the person who organized it has moved away and the co-op disbanded.

How exciting! And milk delivered! Wow. We had a great dairy in the bay area, Straus Family Creamery, and I thought it was THE BEST milk ever. In glass bottles that you return for a deposit, and it was un-homogenized. It was so good! I wish I could find something like that here. Organic Valley is pretty good, and they have just started with un-homogenized milk, which is awfully tasty. Straus does deliver it's ice cream, and I think it's yogurt up here.

Our garden greens are almost ready to begin eating. We don't have a cow, though, so I guess I'll have to find another way to get fresh milk.

I e-mailed you a week ago or so about that wonderful weight-loss program you have been following. I thought maybe my e-mail got spammed out, or something. My e-mail address is on my About me section on my blog. I would love to be a little more proactive about my health, as my big 40 is only 2 months away.

sounds soooo good! There isn't much of that around here. I haven't been able to find an organic produce/food co-op anywhere, any suggestions? How hard is it to start one?. enjoy!!

Wow! Congrats! Can't get milk like that around here!

Veggies, yes. I make it to the farmer's market occasionally and I agree about how much better the fresh organics taste. Can't beat it.

Wow! This sounds even better than buying veggies at a Farmer's Market in the summer (which I love doing). Off to see if there is something like this in my area!

Sounds great! I always thought the milkman was more expensive too. We get ours from Costco, but maybe when we move we can get it delivered. ;)

Get me a plane ticket and I'll be there in a jiffy!

My family converted to organic veggies about 2 years ago and there's no going back!

That sounds wonderful! I wish I could get fresh milk delivered to our house. We were thinking about joining a coop this summer for veggies.
