Did you know my mom is shrinking? Xavier asked my mom when she was visiting. I think he had visions of the Incredible Shrinking Woman . He went on to explain that I’d gotten too small for my clothes. I can assure you that I was not sprayed with toxic goop that made me shrink (one could only wish).
However, I am pleased to say that I have lost 35 pounds, and am currently only about 5 pound above my goal. So, that working out thing (along with the even bigger watching my caloric intake thing) is working out pretty well.
I finally had to suck it up and buy new clothes last week; I was so thrilled to find I was in size 8 jeans! Whohoooo, that’s down three sizes. On a far less exciting note (sorry guys who read my blog for this bit of information) I lost a similar size amount in the mammary gland department. Oh well - easy come, easy go.
Anyway, so I treated myself to a cute and kicky knit skirt yesterday at Old Navy. Then, in one of my more brilliant moments, while sitting down outside today during lunch, I stepped on the hem and pulled it down when I stood up. Oh so elegant!
I continue to watch my calories – and I’m pretty resigned to the fact this will be a life long thing. I continue to walk with Eddie. And, I’ve started doing Pilates again to get toned.
A huge thanks to Dawn , Laura, and Susan who provided a lot of support and encouragement along the way. And, most importantly, to Alana who told me all about the calorie intake formula (and crunched numbers for me), and was a great cheerleader.

I have lost 8 lbs in the past month, which I gained while Christina was in the hospital.
Just eating smarter, not so much fast food, although Im always tempted.

Your great!
Susan
Well done, Mimi !!
I`m down to about 5 pounds over my target weight too :-)
Congratulations!! that is great.
I had visions of doing the same thing with my skirts during Lenten prostrations. I did manage to tear a hem or two, but otherwise everything stayed where it was supposed to!

yay!! must feel great, eh?
Terrific! How long did that take? I really need some motivation. I have avoided the "fad" diets, I know they wouldn't be a "rest of my life" type thing. So, I have bumbled along, basically accomplishing nothing. So, you have inspired me!!
That's FANTASTIC, Mimi!
Now let's work on your skirt-wearing skills...(KIDDING!)
Way to go!!!
Congratulations on losing those inches, Mimi! And, isn't it always the way that the weight first goes from the places you'd most like it to stay? Why can't my saddlebags migrate up to the breastular region? WHY!?!?!?!?
Congrats! That's wonderful! And I am fairly sure I would do/have done the skirt thing. :)
Wow, Mimi!!! That's just fantastic!! Congrats to you...
way to go, that's awesome!! Cute skirt...I've done the same pulling down trick.
Congratulations! You are awesome!!!
I like the skirt. I might have to get me one of those. Congrats on the weight loss. Calorie counting is the only way to go. --Anita
congratulations!!once when i was in church a long skirt i had oh caught on a nail sticking up out of the hard wood floor. when i stood up the top of the skirt pulled down around my knees and the people behind me got a nice view of my underwear. very embarrassing.
Wonderful..Mimi...I am only now reading this, girl! WOW! I wear size 10 most of the time now and that is good for me. I would really have to lose that extra 5 or so for the 8....just too short, I guess! Anyway...G-R-E-A-T!!!
I'm so pleased for you! ...and I just bookmarked the Calorie Queen homepage ;-)
God Bless
Congratulations!!! Wow... just in time to show off your summer bod!;)
Oh Mimi! That's wonderful!! I can just imagine how great you must feel!
I haven't been a size 8 since my dancing years...but i still have ONE pair of sizw 8 Calvin jeans...just for the memories! Keep up the great work.
