What is so rare as a day in June?

Apparently a blog post from me in June. Eeek! I can’t believe how quickly this month is flying by.

I had a really busy weekend, but it was absolutely wonderful.

Friday evening, my friend Nicole and her husband came to visit. Nicole and I were friends in college, and then she went to Ireland for school and fell in love and stayed. Her parents live in this area still, so I’ve had the pleasure of seeing her a few times (always for too short of a time) but had never met her husband. He was just as delightful as I imagined, and was so loving and complimentary to Nicole – I knew why she stayed in Ireland!

Saturday, I got up and drove to Portland to see Christina’s son’s Baptism. The new church was beautiful and Petros was so absolutely adorable and very good during the ceremony. I’d never met Christina or her mother, Susan, except through blogging, but I felt like I’d known them forever and was completely enveloped in their love and friendship. I can’t wait to see them again. It was also a pleasure to see Presbytera Elizabeth and her two kids, as well as Xenia Kathryn and the gorgeous, blueberry-eyed Vasilia , and meet Job. The time passed too quickly before I had to get headed home, but I hope to see everyone again soon.

Sunday was our Parish’s Holy Trinity Chapel’s Altar Feast Day , so we picked up Arielle and drove to the foothills of the Mountain for a lovely Feast Day and BBQ afterwards. The day faked us out by being cloudy in the morning, and then really hot (like 80+) in the afternoon. It was also lovely to see Lizzie, as well as our friends from our parish.

Somehow, I’m not surprised to report that I fell asleep during Wallace and Gromit and the Curse of the Were-Rabbit last night.

On a side note, I’ve had a terrible time with Blogger this past week, so if I’ve not commented on your blog, it isn’t because I haven’t read it. I’ve just not been able to get comments through.

It was great to see you again, too! The baptism was nice. Petros was so quiet and just took everything in, except for just a few seconds after his quick, thrice-fold dunking. (Fr. Ted baptizes very quickly!)

Mimi, it was so great to see you again! Maybe, just maybe, you'll make it down for Vasilia's baptism...? :) I hope so, although we don't know yet when it will take place.

I'm so glad you stayed and got to meet Christina and Susan! I would've loved to hang out with you all a little more! :(

I' so glad you had such a lovely time. So very few of my blog friends are Brit's that alas, it's unlikely I shall ever have the joy of meeting them!

God Bless you!

sounds like you have been too busy to post... either that, or you are just building your alibi; i will keep my eyes open next time i watch COPS.... :)

when our son Becket was sick he 'tried' to watch the Wallace and Gromit "COTWR" dvd... but he was too scared to watch it by himself.

later when the rest of the family watched it, he joined us.

i think he just hyped himself into thinking he would be scared.

thanks for coming, mimi... it was so wonderful to finally meet you. I'm just sorry that we didn't get to spend more time together. I promise that once my sister moves to seattle, that the next time I drive through olympia, we will get together for lunch or something (if your schedule permits). It was such a beautiful day and such beautiful weather!!!

Blogger's been a bear for me, too. I haven't posted all that much either and stopped visiting because I had so much trouble loading stuff. It was good to "see" you today, though!
