Friday Thoughts
The Mariners apparently just play in the wrong league. After having a great run in Interleague play, they were swept by the Angels . Tonight, the begin a series against the league leading Tigers. We saw them play the Rockies last Saturday, they came back from a 7-2 deficit to win 8-7, and it was great fun to attend.
I’ve been on a reading tear – I enjoyed “One Hundred Years of Solitude”, although it got a bit dry at the end. However, the ending just confirmed the etherealness of the entire book. I do look forward to reading “Love in the Time of Cholera”. Since, then, I’ve read “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants ” (see, Chris, you aren’t the only one); “Babycatcher: Chronicles of a Modern Midwife ” which I highly recommend (and, Alicia just introduced me to another Midwife’s blog – go read and enjoy); and am in the middle of “The Winter Queen: Elizabeth of Bohemia”. And, of course, I finished the book about the Kings and Queens. And, several of you recommended “Christ The Lord: Out of Egypt ” by Anne Rice, so I shall keep my eyes out for it.
The kids are getting ready to go to California, Dawn celebrated her birthday yesterday (can’t wait to see you in two weeks), it’s a sunny and warm weekend, I scrap on Saturday, we have fresh strawberries in the fridge and life is good. Enjoy!

Congrats on making progress in the "reading pile", I have one of those myself. The problem is that between work, needlework and indexing training that I rarely have time to just sit and read more than a few minutes at a time. I think I'm jealous :)
Gosh, I just want to sit and read one book! For some reason, I just can't get it together to do so...if I don't start my reading in the morning, I won't do well, for when I wait until everything that I think I need to do gets done, I am too tired and I get only a few pages in. I know ... I just have to make time for me to read...quit the whining! :)
enjoy the strawberries! the sun is back out today, but i left work sick :( i'm looking forward to your visit.
You sound happily busy. The kind of feeling that *all is right in the world today*. Woot! Glad to hear it.
Been reading too. But slowly. I'm glad for the downtime.
Yum strawberries!!!
oooo, I want to read the Babycatcher book! I just looked it up, and it looks great.
I can't even manage the required reading for my next module, let alone the fun stuff! Of course, if I spent less time on the net, I could read more ;-)
God Bless you and yours!
I just bought "Babycather" at the thrift store. I am looking forward to reading it.
