The best way to summer is in the Northwest. We've been warm and sunny, and last night, the rain came in. There's a bit of humidity, but not a lot. I love it, it keeps the dust down, keeps the sweat down, and the grass and flowers watered.

Enjoyed eating some of my neighbor's blueberries (from their freezer, not yard) - they sent a bag along with Xavy the other day. Yum. They are a treat in my lunch.

The All-Star game was incredible yesterday, no? We were kind of rooting for the NL, and then to have them blow it one out away from their first win since 1996. But, then, the AL is where the Mariners are.

The boys are winging to California - travel safely and enjoy! Godspeed.

I keep promising myself that Someday, I'll make it to the Northwest. I've been obsessed with it ever since Silouan Thompson, on the Convert list, said that it rarely goes above 75F in the summer, or below 32F in the winter -- sounds awfully darn good, to an East-Coast gal who only knows wretchedly humid summers and Siberian winters.

Blessings to the boys as they travel!

Come on over... there are still some raspberries on our bushes --you will have to fight Andrew and the dog for them though.

I, like Meg, hope to someday make it to the Pacific NW. Hubby's been a few times and says its absolutely gorgeous.

I sent some marionberry jam via Christina today. I hope you get it.
Are you native to the northwest?
I was born in Portland, raised in Boring, and lived in Vancouver almost my entire married life.
Couldnt really think of anywhere I would rather be.

it's soon fresh blueberry season here Mimi. I love that :)

strawberries now - and they are huge and dark as we've had such a hot summer.

I don't like imported strawberries (and worry about GM!) but these local ones are sooooo delicious. Esp with sugar and cream. oh la la all those extra calories.
