Visits with Friends.
We’ve been blessed in the past several days to have some lovely interludes with good friends.
Saturday, Eddie and I went to see a Midsummer Night’s Dream (put on by Greenstage Theater’s Shakespeare in the Park) with Mousethief and his lovely wife. We greatly enjoyed the play and the acting, and our lovely picnic with Farmer’s Market cheeses, fresh fruit and crackers.
Sunday, I went to the Mission here in town and met up with Christina , Paul and their two adorable boys. After church we had a wonderful lunch together – it was just delightful and time just flew. Sadly, we forgot the jam that Susan sent for me – which I am very disappointed about, I was so looking forward to it!
Monday night, I drove up to Poulsbo (the back way – much less traffic, I’m converted) and stayed the night with Dawn. It was lovely to visit with her, we watched some great TV, talked books, life, Orthodoxy and good friends, and was greatly enjoyed. Yesterday, we went to St. Elizabeth’s Feast Day Liturgy – I got to meet several lovely parish members and had a great coffee hour afterwards (looking at Dawn’s photos, it reminds me that I need to start Pilates again, my posture is terrible). St. Elizabeth’s patronage was palpable, and I am honored to have been there. Afterwards, we wandered downtown Poulsbo, shopped in bookstores (I love the fact that Dawn is a reader too!), ate at a bakery, and bought matching great dresses. Time flew too quickly, and my trip home was uneventful. It was good to see Eddie last night, though, I’d missed him.
I have a couple of requests – my dear bogging friend, Meg, needs some prayers for healing. As does a good friend, Sophia, who just had surgery yesterday and my aunt who had surgery today, and my poor Xavier has a nasty flu, he sounded so sad on the phone today

Mimi,
it seems funny to read on your blog that we bought matching dresses. It should be explained that they happened to match, but just because they were on sale and we both have good taste. :)
It was a blessing to have you here.
small world ... I've run into mousethief over at ship of fools - but about two years ago. I liked his signature because everyone did spell his name wrong. My name (over there) too. Fun!
Nice, nice, nice! I was unable to make it to a local church celebrating St. Elizabeth's feast day. I'll have to check out the pix.
Praying for your son and the other prayer needs.
Deb
Sounds to have been a very busy but life enhancing few days.
Prayers ascending.
Lorna, I didn't know you were on the 'Ship of Fools' too I joined there about 4 or 5 years ago!
Sending out prayers to everyone!!
sounds like a fun weekend!!!
Praying for all your friends, and of course your son.
In the midst of all those worries, I'm glad you were able to find the space to kick back for a bit. I think we need friends even more when life gets out of hand.
Sounds like some great times. Hope all the not-so-well are well soon.
