Dear Peeps,

A couple of days ago (there was a calendar misreading) my wonderful husband gave me a Valentine’s gift of your fabulous candy (he knows me well). I was disappointed to discover that you have decided to add flavor to your product. If you must branch out from Easter only candy, don’t add vanilla or peppermint – just keep making your pure sugar perfection.

Thank you and Happy Valentine's Day,
Mimi

Mimi,

This is relevant to nothing, but I just found this on a forum I frequent and I knew you would get a kick out of it -- none of my other blogfriends would "get it."

Thanks for your prayer on my post today.

Mimi, you know I love you but I really have to question your devotion to Peeps. I don't think it's healthy. ;)

Mimi, I couldn't agree more! I don't know why they would ever consider changing the flavor. I'll have to make sure I read the package carefully before I by some. I don't want to end up with peppermint- yuck!

Mimi, I'm not even going to bother telling my DH about the flavor additives. It would only upset him ;-)

Blech! I didn't know that they had added flavors to them. I assume that the Easter ones don't have flavors added.

How very disturbing!

Yucky yuck! I don't know if I can be your friend if you're a peep lover! ;-)

Peppermint-flavored peeps...double yucky yuck!

Hope you had a happy day!

Wha...?
I love the marshmallow "flavor" of the peep, can't they leave great enough alone?

I like it when the peeps sit out for a couple of days in an open pkg and get a bit crusty...

Mmm... Peeps! Not sure if I'd like flavored ones or not.

I have always hated peeps..(sorry if that offends you)..unless they are roasted. Then I love them. I really can't imagine those flavors help them out any.
I love twizzlers and I remember once hubby thinking I would love watermelon twizzlers instead of regular ol' twizzlers. Hubby was WRONG.

Hi Mimi!

I just saw your comment about P&P... I have all of it on dvd. Would you like to borrow it?

lol Mimi...peeps have a long history in my family - so much that we sent Andrew some snowmen peeps at Christmas...not that he loves them - but they remember as children having PEEPS all over their easter baskets because their Dad loves 'em! Now I will think of you with each new holiday peep that comes out!

Alicia - that was BRILLIANT! Thank you so much!

Esther - I agree, that's for the best.

No offense for those who don't like them, but I do have to admit, I've not met anyone who loves the flavored ones. Hopefully they'll figure that out.

And, Emma, thank you so much for the sweet offer! I sent you an email.

They'd better not flavor up my Easter chicks. I've been too busy figuring out how to identify the various colors by taste alone, with my eyes closed. After I get tired of that, I put some in the microwave.
They should not mess with the Peeps. I'm happy that they're around for more holidays, but they should only taste like Peeps.
