Sara started a meme that I thought would be fun to do:
Three things I’ve found recently I intend on keeping.
1) a pearl earring that Eddie gave me for our last anniversary. I searched and searched for it after I realized I’d lost it back in October. Earlier this week, he and I were talking, and I spotted it on the bookshelf where it had fallen. I only wear earrings once or twice a year, but now I’m ready!
2) The motivation to get up in the morning and exercise. I’d let this fall off lately, and I’ve rediscovered it in the tightening of my jeans and the creeping up scale. So, you dear readers are charged with asking me how my morning exercise went (didn’t do it this morning, but I did three times this week) when you think of it!
3) Dryer balls, Ok, my inner thirteen year old is amused with the name of this nifty product, but they do make your laundry nice and fluffy without chemicals. However, I do have a request – you Domestic Wonders out there – what natural remedy will cut down on static. This morning I warily tried vinegar (we’ll see if the smell lingers) but with the winter weather, I need something as I am tired of the sparks arcing off our clothes!
May you find a lovely weekend ahead

Static solution: A spray bottle of water. Just mist the offending garment. The static is due to dry air.
:o)
Errrmmm... I have never owned a clothes dryer, so had no idea what the fuss was about static cling until we lived in an apartment complex where using the washer and dryer were required. Now that we own our own home, I line-dry all our stuff in the summer, and in the winter, I dry it on laundry racks (I do cheat and send the sheets out) -- moisturizes the house beautifully, and no static cling. Plus, it's great for the environment...
Glad you found your earring!! I get up at 5:10 am four times a week to go to the gym... ugh!!
I read your other post and encourage you to see "Atonement". It's really, really good. I usually only see one or two movies a year at the full-price theater, and then wait for them to show up at the second-run or on dvd. I'm glad I splurged on this one!
The best way to cure static is... hang your clothes on an airer! It saves electricity, helps prevent global warming and there's no static cling. We've been doing it that way in Oz for decades. I actually don't think you can buy those dryer sheets here...
So you are now officially a girl with a pearl earring?
Congratulations on the exercising!
woo hoo...long live the meme! thanks for keeping it real :)
i've been meaning to try those dryer balls (hehe). So, they really do work, eh? haven't been using fabric softener for a couple of years now. gotta try em.
i've been wondering what dryer balls do...do they stop clothes getting as crumpled, and hopefully then forego the need of ironing?
If so, I'm buying some!
I enjoyed your responses and it looks like a fun meme Mimi. I will have to remember to do it during the weekend.
Deb, I'd not say I never iron, but things do come out nice and fluffy.
Air drying! What a brilliant idea! Thanks to all who mentioned it.
And, the rain recently has helped our issue a lot.
