When St. Lazarus’ Feast Day passed a few weeks ago, I learned on the Orrologian blog that it is said of St. Lazarus that after he was resurrected by Christ, he made sure to serve something sweet with every meal.

I have long had that tradition, and remember to keep an opening in my daily caloric count for something to feed the sweet tooth I inherited from my Grandmother (may her Memory be Eternal). Today’s treat? The new Candy Cane Kisses I discovered this weekend.

YUM! those would be perfect in the center of a homemade chocolate 'thumbprint' cookie...
Love hearing about your celebrations!

Oh, my. I must confess that I am a very boring fellow and I like my ice cream to be vanilla or when I am adventurous chocolate. So I like my hershey kisses to be exactly what they were when I was a child: just chocolate. When I want peppermint, then I go for the candy cane or the peppermint patty. However, I must confess that I like the idea of something sweet to wrap up dinner each day. Thank heavens for splenda and malititol! :)

I tried to comment on this yesterday, but it wouldn't let me. I hadn't seen these before, but, boy are they cute. I'm sad I will have to abstain because of the milk allergy. :( unless they don't have milk! I LOVEEEE chocolate/peppermint. I love to make brownies with candycanes in them. I love red, my favorite color! so cute!

What a lovely tradition! I try to have a little bit of dark organic chocolate every day (ie, I try not to eat the whole bar) and now I will think of St Lazarus when I do.
