Friday Catch-up

Thank you for all the photos, links, and emails for my request! I appreciate each and every one, and Magda, no I’d not even thought of that – great link.! And, Rebeca, I’ll get an email to you later, I wish you could sit in on my class as well.

Back to School nights were this week for both boys - we won’t go into the plethora of misspellings (side note, my auto correct just changed the spelling of plethora, which proves the old adage – never rant about spelling, you’ll always mess up in the rant) on the signs around the High School. Grrrr. Sent emails to a few of Ced’s teachers, apparently getting assignments turned in on time is a skill that needs attention, but he’ll be working on it. And, Xavier has a presentation on plankton this afternoon – he’s bringing in a CD for background music and a blueberry-peach crisp (I’m not quite sure how that works into the presentation, but it looked yummy).

Eddie is on the mend after I lovingly passed along my cold to him. He had a rough time with it, though, poor guy.

All eyes (ok, my eyes at least) are on the NL West race – Come on Dodgers, you can pull it off.

Three baby girls were born in my circle of friends in the past week – many years to Sophia, Sylvia and Mia and their families! They all sound adorable!

We enjoyed the NBC premieres last night, although Ced sat with us and watched The Office and boy about half-way through I was internally wishing he’d go get the popcorn. However, as Eddie pointed out, I’m sure he could explain more of the jokes that I could.

Fall is indeed here – the weather has turned, sweaters have been pulled out, leaves are falling, and the heater is on. I love this weather!

My mom is visiting in early November to go to a Scrapbooking event with me, and we just got tickets to see Van Morrison that night. Doesn’t that sound lovely?

Happy weekend and thanks!

Sorry you haven't been feeling well, but about that 'passing it on', aren't we called to share all that we have?

Was the Office not one of the best episodes you've seen? This was a brilliant episode!

I'm sorry Mimi...very sorry. You know where I live and you continue to rave up the Dodgers...it is unacceptable. At the moment we speak the Phils (that's right..I said the Phils) are beating Florida by a score of 6-2. (edit: i write too slowly it's 6-4) I'm glad the Dodgers have such fans as you, but unfortunately, games are decided by runs scored...and we have the guy with 58 home runs.(of course that's if teams are brave enough to pitch to him....for example he was intentionally walked with two men out and nobody on)) :-P

(just kidding of course...)

You do have Jamie Moyer, who I adore and came from our beloved Mariners. If I could decide, I'd send the Dodgers in the NL West into post-season and your beloved Phillies in under the Wild Card.

Just as long as those pesky Giants don't get in, I'm happy :)

Sounds like lots of good stuff happening-- though bummer about Eddie's cold, er wait... or should I call it Mimi's cold given to Eddie :)

I cant believe it that I missed The Office, and the season premier to boot. We are currently on holiday at my folks home, I guess our missing it means that we are having a good time...

And Van Morrison too!! Wonderful.

wow, you have Autumn already ?
Here, we have just had an absolutely scorchingly hot day, but it is getting cold in the nights so Autumn isn`t too far away.
Our heating is firmly off at the moment !
