Picture Request for my Church School Lesson. For my lesson on Sunday, I'd like to gather some photos of different iconstasises. Would you either email me one or link me to your parish's website, if you have one?

Thanks so kindly! You will be properly credited in the class.

Mimi:

Try www.stgeorgeportland.org

I the parish has a picture on the site of the iconostasis.

There's also a cool little iconostasis program you can run for your desktop that is constructed from the actual iconostasis at the parish . . . when you need a quiet moment at the computer!

Hi Mimi....

here is a link for St Stephen's in Philadelphia PA. The link is for my gallery in LJ. Let me know if it works or not. It's a little dark. Hope you can use it.

Hi Mimi, Thanks so much for your prayers and faithful commenting! Sorry I haven't been by in a while. A very belated, and very happy birthday to you!
And yes, I quilt! The quilts in the pics are the ones I've made for my kids and my best friend's little guy.
I wish I could be in your class on the iconostasis. I need some interpretation! Is there a book or something you'd recommend for learning about the icons?

hope it works out :) sounds interesting.

we had a workshop on making icons .. but I couldn't take part. Heard it was good (and interesting) though. A lot of fellowship too which is important

Holy Transfiguration Greek Catholic Melkite Church, McClean, VA

The main website is under construction, but I did find a small picture of our iconostasis:

The eparchy cathedral has a list of Melkite websites, many of which will have pictures of their iconstasis:

... including this photo of St. Joseph's in Ohio.

Have fun with the project!
