Live a Life Less Ordinary, Part II.
When I went to the Carbon Leaf website for my post about their concert in August, I discovered they’d be in my fair city on Sunday to do a music lounge and pre-release party for their album, Love, Loss, Hope, Repeat (out today – I am excited to pick it up on my way home).
So, we packed up and toddled over to the large mega-bookstore grand opening to see them. Xavy didn’t like waiting for them squished up against a table and a poor woman trying to get some work done, and was on the cranky side - but he did seem to enjoy them ok. However, apparently his mom sways while listening to live music, and that’s annoying to him. Their set was short, four songs from their new album, and Live a Life Less Ordinary as the ending song. It was absolutely lovely – great sound, nice intimate feel, the band was chatty and lots of fun. I stayed afterwards, lined up on the blue tape and they signed one of my albums.
Other highlights of the weekend, I picked up these lovely shoes in a dark brown (they didn’t have black in my size). I think the brown is neutral enough, and as Xavier pointed out, they go with my hair.
Eddie and the boys went to the Farmer’s Market, and we have yummy fruit to enjoy.
Happy September! Fall is definitely on the horizon, there’s a chill in the air even when it’s warm, and it’s getting dark earlier.
