A woman’s daybook FOR Wednesday, February 18...
Outside my window...it is beautifully sunny and a bit cold.
I am thinking...how fun it was to celebrate a wedding on Sunday afternoon
I am thankful for...the opportunity to have coffee with my Goddaughter on Monday
From the learning rooms…The X-man’s teacher recommended Maus, and he was delighted to discover we had them both. I was undelighted to have to search my memory to see how graphic they were, but anything that gets him reading is a good thing in my book. The Oldest is working on an online Sociology course, which is a graduation requirement, prayers that it works out well
From the kitchen...probably hummus and bread. I’ve never made hummus before, it’s usually Dh’s chore, but since he’s got a meeting tonight, I’ll try to whip some up.
I am wearing...I think I’ve worn this outfit before on a daybook day, but a brown skirt with embroidery, a brown sweater, and my brown oxfords.
I am creating...so excited to be scrapbooking on Friday night!
I am going...to see The Reader soon, I hope. I read it last month, and want to see how it is translated to film.
I am reading...Last night, I finished an Elm Creek book, and today I’m planning on starting The Reluctant Queen by Jean Plaidy
I am hoping...to remember to pick up some photos from Target today
I am hearing...the sound of the bus outside – my office is on the bus route. It reminds me of the day the X-man was born, I could hear the busses running outside during labor.
Around the house...the boys and I went to IKEA on Monday, and The Oldest put together his sofa bed all by himself (and found the allen wrench in the packaging).
One of my favorite things...a good book and a cup of coffee
A few plans for the rest of the week: lunch with my Goddaughter tomorrow (I get to visit with her twice in one week, what a treat!), a silent film with a friend tomorrow night, the aforementioned scrapbooking on Friday, baseball tryouts and grocery shopping on Saturday, and then we need to pick up a new mattress for the X-man and do a dump run. Anyone have a truck we can borrow? Oh yeah, and a Women's Auxiliary meeting.
Here is picture thought I am sharing…ok, it’s a link to the IKEA purchase

Nice entry. Sounds so peaceful.

You wear many earth tones. Do you also wear bright colors? I think your coloring would be well suited to a flashy bright pink and melon green outfit.

Just a thought. ;o)

Philippa! I do wear a lot of bright colors, in fact earth tones are really rare in my closet because I'm pretty vivid - winter tones. In fact, today I'm wearing an icy turquoise sweater set.

I think I just happen to get caught on earth tone days when I do daybooks!

And, that brown is a pretty chocolately brown.

Sounds like you will have a busy weekend! My few attempts at hummus have never been successful...I'm always thrilled when the Lebanese ladies at church do coffee hour as a result. :-)

I wish we had an IKEA around here. :(

Homemade hummus is good because you can control the amount of oil. As for the Ikea sofa-bed, Miss Darcy says if she wasn't snoozing-posing on my futon she'd DEFINITELY snooze on your sofa-bed.

coffee and a good book sounds good to me. :-) I used to munch on sunflower seeds while reading, but that got to be just a bit to fattening, lol.

Thank you Mimi for visiting me. Forgive ME, my sister. If you could, please pray for our priest, who actually had to cancel Forgiveness vespers due to being admitted into the hospital. He became suddenly quite ill, and we are all concerned for him!
