Blessed art Thou, O Christ our God, who hast revealed the fishermen as most wise by sending down upon them the Holy Spirit: through them Thou didst draw the world into Thy net. 0 Lover of Man, Glory to Thee (Troparion).
Memorial Day weekend in the Northwest can be a bit touchy, and this year was no exception. I had the pleasure of shivering through a quick picnic after the Pentecost Liturgy and Kneeling Vespers at our Chapel in the Mt. Rainier foothills (“Mom, what if Mt. Rainier blows while we are there? Mom, did you know that Mt. Rainier is overdue to erupt?”) Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous, and I enjoyed spending time with Eddie and the boys, watching a very good Mariners game on TV, and finishing my book for Book Club.
Lizzie was blessed to attend Liturgy at the ROCOR cathedral in Seattle, concelebrated with priests from all Jurisdictions – Thanks be to God. I had hoped to attend, but the lure of family time was too strong. Perhaps next year, as I read they’d like to make it an annual event.
Enjoy the Festal Week!

Sounds like you're having a bit of fun lately! :)
Being in the foothills sounds divine. I also enjoyed having some down time with the family as well.
That sounds amazing to be standing at the foothills, I can only imagine as I am stuck in the land of the flat. lol
I'm glad the volcano didn't get you! We were not far from Mount Saint Helens and Peregrine prayed that it wouldn't erupt (or interrupt, as he often says) while we were there!
What a beautiful chapel! Thanks for sharing the link with us, I enjoyed reading more about it and looking at the images on the website.
God bless you!
You know, Simone, I grew up in the foothills of California, so I guess I don't really contemplate how amazing it is, but it is, isn't it?
And, Rebeca, interrupt made me giggle!
Thanks, dearest Suzanne, Deb and Deb!
