It's National Wear an Apron Day! Press Release
Right now, women across the United States and the blogosphere are searching thrift stores, ebay, and their mother's linen drawers for aprons to wear May 14th. Some are making their own. Wearing their aprons inside and outside of their homes, Apron Moms will celebrate their pivotal role in making a house a home. As the search for domestic bliss continues, a search that includes cleaning and decluttering, cooking tasty nutritious meals, educating children, and the care and feeding of husbands, women will celebrate the difference they make in the lives of their families. They know an apron is like a uniform that conveys authority, unconditional regard, and motherly wisdom all at once. Apron Moms know aprons are about cooking and cleaning but they are also about emotional availablity, hospitality, and femininity. O
n Monday, May 14th, apron wearing women will drop children off at school, go to the post office and grocery store, and greet their families at the door wearing their aprons. Some will go to their work outside of the home. But regardless of where they spend most of their day, they will post pictures on their blogs of the places they boldly wear their aprons. There will be a virtual cocktail party at 5pm CST to giggle about our experiences, to toast the internet's role in bringing us together, and to plan next year's Apron Mom March on Washington. The devil very well may wear Prada but authentically feminine women wear aprons! For further information, please email the Kitchen Madonna at kitchenmadonna@mac.com.
(ok, so mine is back at home and not at the office - but I sure looked good while doing the dishes this morning, eh?)

How gorgeous! And not just the apron, my dear, you look positively stunning in your fabulous apron :-)
How fun! I have some of my MIL's real old aprons, as well as one I made back in home ec. The kids also purchased a Food TV apron for me a few years ago, which I wear quite often. I love my aprons. :-)
P.S. Thank you for your prayers, Mimi.
Way Cool !
I have to get me an apron too !
You look great!

I missed it! I did, however, unknowingly put on my pinny as usual when I got home (pinny = pinafore). My mother lived in one at home - it had big pockets in front in which she collected allsorts and dropped it all off in its rightful place bit by bit. Sometimes she forgot about candy and washed it into hard immovable goo. She used to say, "A career woman has two vital items of clothing: a good suit and a decent pinny to protect it" :-) Sadly she didn't live long enough to become eccentric and lecture in her pinny.
Last post was mine, I deleted it due to horrible typos.
Looks fabulous! I've been wearing mine to install a shade and curtain rod in the bathroom. (Real Moms have power tools!)
Two wishes: one, I wish I'd known about this sooner, I would have worn *my* apron all day, and two, I wish I could find another couple of aprons just like the one I have, which has tiny flowers printed on it and has a wonderful ruffle at the bottom. It's a *real* apron, with a bib front -- I'll have to see if I can get dh to take a picture that I can post on my blog. Let's hear it for aprons!!
I bought my mother a book about aprons for Mother's Day, which was only yesterday. Does that count for partial credit?
HEY!!! We're TWINS..TWINS, I say!
Got the same taste, girl!
So cute...I haven't got my "momma mug" shot up yet, but I hope to tonight! How fun, huh? Suzanne
Aren't you looking just way to cute in your apron! I don't usually wear an apron...and usually I'm sorry I didn't! LOL!
I wear mine every day...I get teased a lot by mom (and kids) since I forget to take it off when out and about. Ther one I'm wearing now is the e xact same fabric asmy friend's living room furiniture! Talk about blending into the background!
ps
you look absolutely adorable!
Hey, that's a pretty darn adorable apron.
I wore no apron yesterday, alas, for I was flat on my back fighting off some dreadful bug. But maybe I'll put one on as I brown our rosemary-mustard pork chops tonight...
how could I have missed this??? I was *not* wearing an apron. But it's not unusual for me to wear one -- to work, even.
Ah, well. Next year!
You look adorable in your pretty apron!
Oh la la! Yes, you look stunning, it's you dah-lin!
Pretty! Mine isn't so cute, but it is functional (plain red canvas with big pockets on the front - no ruffles). I don't have a digital camera, so it'll be a while before I can post pictures at my place.
I need an apron for doing laundry! I keep splashing bleach onto my clothing. Cute apron!
You look great!!! :)

I completely missed this post for some reason- and it reminded me how much I really need an apron! I have been wanting one probably since we first got married, but I haven't found one that I like ;)
And thanks for the supportive comment on my blog! I am feeling much better after attending Liturgy this morning. I'll have to post about that now. Thanks!
Love the apron! I'm sorry I missed the day, but I think I wear my apron often enough to make up for it!
