A Sort of Homecoming
Saturday night, Cedric went to Homecoming with a lovely girl.
We went shopping at Macy's earlier in the day, picked out a nice slate grey shirt and black tie. I said, "wow, you are expensive" he said, "I didn't buy the shoes" Oh, uh, good point.
We went downtown to pick up the corsage - the florist (who we know - her kids have gone to school with Ced since elementary) did a ribbon instead of elastic for the wrist corsage. Is that not a great idea? And, the florist is next to a pie shop, so we of course treated ourselves

Eddie helped with the tie.
He looked fabulous

And, then, we dropped him off at the school where he met his girl, did the flower thing, and went inside to have a great time.

Hope they both had a fantabulous time :-)
Sounds like a fun time.
Elizabeth - no, those are my new shoes!
Thanks for the kudos, I love "handsome chappie" I'm going to have to remember that.
Ian - Homecoming is connected with football (the American kind, not your football) - it's the big game, there's royalty crowned, the theory behind the name is it is the game that the alumni is supposed to come and watch (I don't know if they do), there's a week of getting ready in the school with pep rallies and dress up days. The school I went to didn't have a formal dance for Homecoming, but it's not uncommon to do so (obviously). More info here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homecoming
