Portland Women’s Retreat.

St. John’s in Portland put on an amazing (and well planned and executed – good job you guys!) retreat this weekend featuring Sister Magdalen all the way from England. I was blessed to travel down with Susan Sophia, Dawn, and Vicki on Friday night and stayed through Saturday.

While there, we saw so many good friends and got our photo with from L-R Dawn, Christina , Xenia Katie (and Vasilia), me, Susan, and Juliana. I sat with Presbytera Elizabeth at the conference, and Susan at lunch, met Kristin (and had a lovely conversation with her), and got to know Jennifer better. And, may I say – tiropitas for lunch. YUM.

Sister’s talk was amazing, she had a wonderful way of putting into words so many things that I struggle with in parenting and how I approach life. All with a good English accent. And, I enjoyed seeing all my friends.

So glad you had a lovely time with all of your sweet friends...everyone looked so happy! Has your hair grown out since your little picture on the blog? It is nice and long! I am also glad that the talk helped you with your parenting and everything to some extent. It is always so wonderful to come away with something we had not really thought of ...it is God's way of getting us aside to clarify a few things...using others to help us to see!

Mimi,
I am sooo jealous !
Both of the chance to hear Sister Magdalen talk (I love her books!) but also to meet up with all the folk whose blogs I read :-)

How lovely to see a photograph of you all together !

I do like Sister Magdalen. Seems forever since I've seen her though which is sad, she's not that far away but I never seem to get to her monastery because I am so disorganised.

Juliana enjoyed meeting and hanging with you all!

And I have heard good things regarding Sr. Magdalen's talks.

It is cool that there was such a strong turnout, and people coming from distances to be there too.
