Back to School Night - We went to Cedric's first Back to School night at the High School. It was really neat to see all his classes and meet his teachers.

His school is huge, Eddie and I got lost more than once. We were saved by the fact that his fifth period teacher wasn't there, so we had enough time to get to that class and back to the next class.

We ran into one of my friends - her son (who Cedric knows) is in a class with Ced. Why didn't you tell us? Well, I didn't think about it. Rolls eyes. It was a pleasant surprise nonetheless!

And, in the I feel old category (even more than the fact I have a high schooler) since it is Spirit Week - they have 80s Day. I shudder to think I have things in my closet that could be worn for this day. Eeek.

Have a fabulous Thursday!

My little brother was trying to tell me that in about 5 years some early 80s songs could be considered Oldies!! Yikes!
I had an 80s party last year and let's just say I didn't have to go any further than my own closet for a costume. :)

We have "nostalgia" weekends on the radio here and they play 80's tunes. Sigh...

Let's see, they have Back to School night and Spirit Week with an 80s theme, but his fifth-period teacher couldn't be bothered to show up for the parents' visiting night, and if it weren't for you, your son would have no idea why Steinbeck's book was called, "Of Mice and Men." Sounds like high school has become a four-year pep rally, a place to "stash" over-active teenagers until they either drop out from sheer boredom or survive to go to college - where they learn everything they *should* have learned in high school, at least, considering that my recent four years in college was a rehash of everything I learned in high school 35 years ago. I don't envy you folks with kids in high school these days.
