Neon Tetra Babies In March, Xavier decided to spend his birthday money on a fish tank and fish. We've been through several goldfish and a molly or two, so I didn't have high hopes. I also don't interact much with them.

Anyway, Eddie came home with four Neon Tetras and Xavier with two Mollies, who lived side by side in the new tank. Apprantly, tetras are hard to breed and there are tips and tricks all over the web on how to get them to do so. I say apparantly, because somehow, we have created the optimum breeding ground and have new tetra babies all the time. Last count, we were over twenty.

The first batch, you'd have thought Eddie hatched them himself, he was so proud. He's less excited now that they still haven't turned neon so he can't give them away.

So, anyone want a tetra, or ten?

No thanks! I remember having fish at my parents' house and they were a lot of work! I have a kid now, I do not need a fish. :)

Olympiada - that's how I feel about fish, trust me. I don't bother them, and they don't bother me.

You know yesterday my daughter's father brought to my home a fish tank that his sponsor had given him for our daughter. When I told him I could not accept it, he was so crushed. I told him to bring it to his home. He said it was for her. I said I can not take care of fish right now, I have to focus on providing food and money for my daughter and I. Funny how you should post about it and then he should bring this fish tank over. I was able to see ahead of time why I could not care for fish.
