I've been tagged by Dawn so I'm answering these questions!

1. Total Number of Books I've Owned:

I can't even fathom putting a number to this. One thing I've been doing since 2003 is keeping a journal of the books I read. Just title, author and date completed (don't want to get bogged down). From that, I've learned I read between 50-60 books a year. Now, this is while I have kids, a job, a marriage, hobbies and other stuff, so I'm sure that number would have been bigger when I had summers off, and smaller when I had young kids. But, if I use 55 as an average and figure I've been reading roughly 28 years, I come up with 1485 books.

2. Last Book I Bought:

For myself "Mountains Beyond Mountains: The Quest of Doctor Paul Farmer, a Man Who Would Cure the World" by Tracy Kidder for book club.

For my son on his Patron Saint Day Saturday (so the last book I actually bought) "Nicholas Wins the Prize: Young Nicholas Experiences the Sacrament of Confession" by Helen Iakovos-Dalalakis. Crated by Eleni Christos. Illustrated by Alexandra Gavrili

3. Last Book I Read:

Last night, I finished "The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency" by Alexander McCall Smith. It would be fluff, wouldn't it (big grin!)

4. Five Books That Mean A Lot To Me:

"Facing East: A Pilgrim's Journey into the Mysteries of Orthodoxy" by Kh. Frederica Matthewes-Green

"Here Be Dragons" by Sharon Kay Penman.

"Animal Dreams" by Barbara Kingsolver

"The Mountain of Silence: A Search for Orthodox Spirituality" by Kyriacos C. Markides

and "The Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini

5. People I Will Infect With This Meme

Mom, LeeAnne (they both can email me their answers!), Christina , Philippa, and Christy

Great list! I'm also a book lover. I've owned many, many books too. I still have some of my childhood books saved for my children. I also have some of my mother's childhood books! I recently finished "Kite Runner", which you have on your list. :)

I have always been a book lover, but now I sell books for a living and don't seem to read as much anymore.

Facing East was the first book i read about Orthodoxy, mainly because it was on the list my friend gave me to read and it was the only one the Barnes and Noble in Woodinville had on the shelf. I enjoy her writing style.
This is fun :)
