“I wish we were in the National League” said Seattle Mariner Manager John McLaren the other day. As our record would have had us in the post-season if we were, I agree. However, the Mariners were so streaky this season, I suspect they’d have hit a bad streak during the post season anyway.
We had the opportunity to go to a game on Friday night – we had great seats, watched the roof close (the first time I’d seen that) and got to enjoy a nail biter – won in the 9th inning by a walk off homerun.
I think there’s a great group in the Post-Season – congratulations to Amy on the Rockies pulling it off (quite the squeaker), and to the Phillies (who have former Mariner pitcher Jamie Moyer on the team – congrats Tom), as well as the Cubs coached by former Mariner Manager Lou Pinella. I also like the Angels, and have a soft spot for the Cleveland Indians, so I’m sure it’ll be fun to watch. Although, I must admit, I’m annoyed that the first round of playoffs is on TBS, a station I don’t get.

Mimi, my father is not too happy the Mets failed to make it this year but my f-i-l is very happy that the Rockies did!
I have 2 words
GO YANKEE'S!
Wow the Mariners do have a great record...though I feel compelled to point out that it only would have won in the NL central division. ;) Maybe next year!
Thanks for the link. Would you believe my dad actually thought the Padres won? He was half asleep during the game. I got to recap it for him. It just goes to show how most of the NL teams are pretty evenly matched.
Yeah, so excited about my beloved Cubbies but I don't even have cable, so guess I'm not watching tonight...stupid!!
The hubster will be glued to the TV. The Sox are on!
Go Yankees??
My DD is psyched that the Phillies are running fast.
The hubster asked her, "What if the Phillies go against the Sox? Who ya gonna root for?" Her response,"The Phillies!" His response, "We're gonna have to kidnap her. She's been brainwashed!"
LOL!
You crack me up Mimi! Such a jock at heart!
Esther - I know, the Mets just tanked at the end, Eeeeeek.
Tatiana - It's not looking too good for the Yankees, and I have to admit that I enjoy watching them not win.
True, Amy, I will agree with that. And,giggling about your dad.
Stephanie, except that I hate to actually PLAY.
Oh, hum, that was actually me. I'm going to have to find out why Xavier has a Blogger account...
I know nothing about baseball. Well, I've seen the Rockies lose a few games but I'm not quite sure how.
Thank you, Mimi, my dad's first name is Bill.
