Keeping Up With the Muggle World Isn't Important when you have such a good book to read.

We went to hang with the lovely Mousethief family (and Lizzie Bennett too!) on Friday night, and walked over to their local bookstore and picked up the new release at the stroke of midnight.

Reading in the car on the way home didn't work that great, but I did get a few chapters in before falling asleep that night. I awoke and immediately began to read, hoping to get it read before I had to scrap with friends at 5pm.

At 4:45 I was two chapters from the end, and knew I'd be late. Thankfully I scrap with three teachers (one of whom gave me the title of this post) and a librarian, so they understood when I was about half an hour late having finished up the book.

I want to re-read the Epilogue, as by that point I had it open on my desk while throwing scrapping supplies into my bag. However, Eddie is working on the book now, so it'll be a few days before I get to that.

It was most excellent, and I thought a fine ending to the series. I'll not post spoilers here, but I would welcome discussion in my comments, so if you haven't finished, keep that in mind.

Shane's been reading ALL DAY LONG!
I told him his neck is going to go into a fixed position and his butt was going to fall asleep! LOL!

All my non-spoiler comments are over at Paradosis (silly man that he is).

I'm working my way through www.hogwartsprofessor.com, John Granger's site.

I also got my SECOND UK edition in the mail (first one came home from London w/Steve). I'm going to follow my tradition and read that one at a more leisurely pace. I wonder if I'll finish the jumbo box of Kleenex I started on Saturday.

Brendan finished this AM. He was so excited when I handed him the book. In years past, he's had to read something prior (again, see Paradosis), but this year he got to jump right in :-)

I guess I'm going to have to go back and finish book one and then the whole rest of the series. We have three copies in the house now and two have finished. Mary is very close to the end. I love to see my children so enjoy reading!!!

What a nice cover...very different from both the adult [which I got] and kid's dustjackets we got down here.

I enjoyed it immensely; a good and fitting finale.

my daughter got her copy Saturday and finished it. she is sad that there will be no more in the series - but I am sure JK will come out with something new!

Wow... these books must be awfully captivating. I work with a young man who read the book non-stop... took him eight hours, but he read it straight through.

Liz - I saw your comments on James' blog.

Ian - It amazes me that there are different covers, and kid and adult ones in your neck of the woods. This illusrator has done all of the US versions of the Harry Potter books, and has a great style, I enjoy her.

She does weave a good tale!

And, no worries if you've never read them (although I do highly recommend them and find a lot of Christian themes throughout, but especially in this last book), I think there are different books for different people. I'm a total LOTR flunky, I have never finished any of them.
