What a loss. The church doesn't need *fewer* leaders. May their memory be eternal.

I had read this story on another Orthodox list. Most certainly his soul, his family, and your parish are in my poor prayers. Memory eternal!

May they ever be in the shadow of Christ's out-strechted arms. the Church has lost a servant and the world has lost one who served as a mentor to boys. My prayers are with the families and with your church.

Mimi,
How is or is the Ukranian Orthodox Church connected with Russian Orthodox Church? I really do not know alot about this and am interested to learn.
I was reading some things about Russian Orthodox last night and I am always interested in learning new things.
I'd rather as someone who knows how to put it in a simple explanation. Thanks for info.

I am very sorry to hear of this . . . our prayers for the repose of Fr. Deacon Joseph and for Alex, and our prayers for the comfort of Joseph's son and the other passenger, as well. The shock must be devastating.

I heard about this from Alex R on Friday, and at our church half the sermon was about it, and we sang Memory eternal. This is so awful, and unbelievable, and must be so hard for his family and all of you at the parish. I am hoping to come down on Wednesday night. Praying for them and for you all. Memory eternal!

The Deacon Joseph Kerns was my Godfather and and a good friend. I will miss him greatly. He was a huge asset to our community - both inside and outside of his parish life. He was a true person, who loved God. Please remember to pray for his family. They will need long-term love and prayers. He was the anchor of his family. May his memory be eternal.
