The other day, when my parents were visiting, the cat was acting up. She kept biting everyone, and we realized that she was breathing funny and seemed to be in pain. So, I took her into the vet, and discovered that Bridget has allergies. A steroid shot seems to have helped alleviate the symptoms, and cleared up the bronchitis that she also apparently had. However, we've been amusing ourselves trying to decide what she is allergic to - our favorites so far are either people or pet dander.

And, I realize I've been remiss. We have another cat too, but she's a lot less mischevious, so a lot less photographed. Cedric picked Orca out from the pound for his sixth birthday (so we've had her 11 years). She's a wonderful, fuzzy, soft tabby who considers it her job to be a second mother to my boys. She is also quite shy, but likes to be petted RIGHT NOW when she is in the mood.

LOL -- pet dander...wouldn't that be funny. Except, well, I guess it wouldn't actually be funny.
Hope she's feeling much better soon!
fun! thanks for sharing and I also hope that the allergic one gets better soon! :) pets are such a blessing!
I love that photo in the sink.
I think our Labradoodle has allergies, too. He is always licking in between his paws. I should probably get him checked out.
our tabby is also shy and has to be petted immediately!
Poor thing! BTW, your cats are beautiful.
We are currently kitten-sitting for our youngest daughter. Juniper the kitten is quite active and the older cats are alternately annoyed and bored with her.
BTW, my RSS feed has changed, so if you are using that please be aware.
You've made me think about getting a new kitty. Mine died last year of unnatural causes (I ran her over) at the ripe old age of 15. I might just about be ready to get a new pet now...
awww poor baby! but she looks awfully cute in that sink! my cat used to do that all the time and he's kind of outgrown it.
they're both very cute! i ♥ kitty pics!!
They are both so cute!
what if people produce a dander of sorts that is irritating to animals ---hmmmmm. i mean if animals can produce a dander that apparently is not too irritating to them, what if we do it to the animal kingdom?
looks like the makings for a science project during the next school year to me.
How in the world does one figure out what a cat is allergic to? Can you give a cat regular doses of benadryl to help?
I'm glad I don't have a pet. Kids were hard enough when they couldn't talk.
Orca! I love that name! My hubby and I are partial to gray tabbies. I hope Allergic Kitty feels better soon...I'm not sure I knew cats could BE allergic...!
Poor little thing! Allergies suck whether you're a two-legs or a four-legs.
And I like the look of your chunky tabby. She looks like a very high-quality cat.
cats are funny that way...
Hey! This is a cute shot of the kitty in the sink...I've seen em do this before in my house too. Funny!
Both of your cats are lovely! I hope that Allergic Kitty is feeling better.
That is kind of funny...a cat that might be allergic to people!? Cute pictures!
Ohhhhhhhhhh Orca's fur! I want to pick her up and ruffle all that fur (bet she's glad I'm 4000 miles away). I just love densely furry cats.
And I'm glad Bridget is feeling better. Is she in the sink to cool down or is it just a laidback cat kind of place to sit?
Giggle, pet dander is the one that cracks me up.
Thank you for your kind comments about the cats - Bridget is definitely feeling better, and Orca is amazingly soft, Margi.
I think that the sink photo is one of those very hot days when they get in there to cool down.
Oh, and Trace, this made me laugh and cringe at the same time. Mine died last year of unnatural causes (I ran her over) at the ripe old age of 15. I might just about be ready to get a new pet now...
. I do hope you get a new pet, they are lovely!
What is it with cats and sinks, anyway? I guess they're nice and cat-sized . . .
