Tuesday Three.

Xavier and I attended a “Mom and Son-a-palooza” on Saturday night. It was really cute – boys were there from 1-5th grade with their moms. There was dancing (Xavier knows the Chicken Dance – I was surprised. It must be those Italian genes), games, ice cream sundaes, hula hoops, a performing pig show, and best of all – Mom and Me Photos.

I spent two hours at the dentist this morning. Blech. I was sure it was going to be a quick cavity fill and didn’t even tell my boss I had an appointment since it was at 8am. Yikes! After ten, she started calling around looking for me as she was sure I was in a ditch somewhere. And, while the numbness has worn off, my mouth still hurts.

My hands are really dry this winter – I have no idea if it is because of our colder than normal weather or wetter than normal weather (the two weather patterns we’ve had lately), but I am imploring you guys to give me product recommendations

*trick pigs???Bwahahaha!!!
*aquaphor or Neutrogena's Swiss Therapy..My hands are very dry as well... sometimes to the point where my finger tips crack (ouch!) Usually a night of cotton gloves and the neutrogena stuff works...There's some other stuff called Bag Balm (originally used for cows!)..it's smells horrid, but it works.
*my dentist appt is tomorrow!!! grrrr
*thanks for the prayers...

Sounds great!

So... what did the pig do?

trader joe's unscented lotion and hand creams are wonderful. my favorite lotion, and i'm picky about lotion. my hands can end up really dry and cracked because of all the washing of them with work and germs and what not. i also carry around a little tin of burt's bees lemon butter cuticle cream and use it all over my hands, it works miracles.

Sounds like a fun time !
I don`t have a dentistt`s appt for another few months, but he is bound to find something wrong :-(

I also have the dreadful dry skin problem....Neal`s Yard herbal handcream is great, but expensive.

I'll second the bag balm. It do stink, but applied at night under cotton gloves it does the trick.

I use it on my hideously dry, cracked feet, applied at night and covered with socks.

The mom-son activities sound too cute! Just reading the word dentist made me cringe.
For the hands, the bag balm at night and Curel Intensive during the day, works like a charm. :)

Aquaphor or a touch of olive oil will work wonders!

Burt's Bees Shea Butter Hand Repair Creme, with Cocoa Butter and Sesame Oil. It's really thick and has worked wonders on this skin that's not used to the harsher winters of the Northwest.

My sister has taught me to love Neutrogena Norwegian Formula® Body Moisturizer.

I'm from Houston (80% humidity is low), now living in an environment where I am constantly battling to keep hydrated. heh. I just realized that my lotion and water bottle are side-by-side on my desk.

Aveeno Hand Lotion, but make sure you get the kind that says, "moisturizes for 24 hours." It did the trick for my hands even better than Neutrogena, and it doesn't stink, like Bag Balm. Plus, I can get it at the supermarket, in the Drugs and Toiletries section (don't know what this is like on the West Coast, though).

I have unbelievably dry skin. I've tried a lot of different products and one that seems to be working right now is Avon's Moisture Therapy Intensive Hand Cream.

Avon's Moisture Therapy Hand Cream. This was the ONLY stuff that would work on dh's eczema when she was a bady.

If you can't get that, good ol' Vaseline all over hands and feet then ensconce both in cotton socks - separately that is!

Wow! Thanks for the suggestions. Aqaphor does seem to be helping (although I think it contains the entire annual production of a small OPEC nation).
