Yesterday, after I picked up Xavier from school, he was chewing and I realized it smelled like Big Red.

That smell brought me back to sixteen years ago today, when I gave a cute wrestler who I knew was sending me “I think you are cute” vibes a pack of Big Red for his 18th Birthday (because he always chewed it). It was the first gift I ever gave my now husband, Eddie.

So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my sweet and amazing husband who is my friend, lover, helper, sounding board, cook, dancing partner, and most importantly, my heart. I love you!

And he's still such a cutie! Is he celebrating this year? If so, I'm late as usual! Give him a big hug for all of us and remind him he's very loved. (Told ya so!) Love to you too, and congratulations on being so wise in your choices lo these many years ago.

Happy Birthday Eddie!

Did you used to save the gum wrappers and fold them in such a manner as to slip them together and make a zig-zag paper chain as tall as your boyfriend? I used to do that. Taught my kids how to also.

There are some things that are absolutely necessary to be handed down generation to generation. Chewing gum chains are one such item!

Isn't it funny how one smell can remind us of so much?
