I have two buckets of blueberries at home (and in my belly). One of the agents in my office lives on a blueberry farm, and her niece picked two buckets for me.

I LOVE blueberries - they are by far my favorite fruit. Such a treat fresh off the bush. And, even more of a treat from the freezer in the winter months. I've always thought I'm particularly lucky as my birthday coincides with blueberry season, so I get blueberry pie for my special day (usually).

Anyway, so I had the first bucket at the house. Xavier and I were coming home from Vespers, and he said "are you going to make a pie" I answered "probably". His reply? "I hope it's pumpkin" Snicker. Not with two buckets of blueberries in the house.

I'm thinking he's counting the days until we get a pumpkin in our CSA box!

May you enjoy the earth's bounty this weekend. And, if you have some blueberries, think of me!

Did you know that blueberries are very good for your health? They are very high in antioxidants.

To add on to what Olympiada said -
Our Priest and Matushka told us that blueberries are "brain food". Whatever is in them actually helps your memory, and helps prevent Alzheimer’s.

I know - isn't it amazing - my favorite fruit turns out to be good for me! That certainly has never happened with my favorite candy!
